Flipkart Warehouse Hiring Process — Step by Step Guide

Step 1: Submit Your Application

Everything starts with the application. You can apply online through the application form on this site. It takes about 5 minutes to complete. Here's what you need to fill in:

• Your full name (as per Aadhaar card)
• Mobile number and WhatsApp number
• Your age and date of birth
• Education qualification (10th pass or higher)
• Which facility you prefer (Malur, Anjaneya, Myntra, or any)
• Shift preference (day, night, or flexible)
• Any previous work experience (optional)

Once you submit, you get a confirmation with an application ID. Save this ID — you'll use it to track your application status. Write it down or take a screenshot.

Pro tip: Apply between Monday to Friday for faster processing. Weekend applications are reviewed on Monday.

Step 2: HR Call Screening

After you submit your application, HR reviews it within 24 hours. If your profile matches the requirements, you get a call from the recruitment team.

The call lasts 10 to 15 minutes. The HR person will ask basic questions to check if you are a good fit. Don't stress — this is not a tough interview. They just want to make sure you are serious and available.

Here are the typical questions they ask:

• "Are you currently in Bangalore?" — They need someone who can report to the facility quickly
• "Which shift can you work?" — Day, night, or both
• "Have you worked in a warehouse before?" — Not required, but good to know
• "Can you handle physical work?" — Standing, walking, lifting for 8-9 hours
• "When can you join?" — Ideally within 3-5 days

Answer honestly. If you have any concerns (like you can only do day shift), tell them clearly. It's better to set expectations upfront than to face problems later.

Some candidates also get a quick video call instead of a phone call. This is more common for supervisor-level roles. For warehouse associate, picker, and packer roles, a simple phone call is standard.

Step 3: Document Verification

If the HR call goes well, you need to submit your documents for verification. This is a critical step — incomplete or incorrect documents can delay your joining.

Here is the complete document checklist:

1. Aadhaar Card (Mandatory)

Your Aadhaar card is the most important document. Both original and photocopy are required. Make sure the name on your Aadhaar matches your application. If there's a mismatch, get a name correction done before applying. Aadhaar is used for background verification and ESIC registration.

2. 10th Marks Card or Passing Certificate

Your 10th standard marks card or passing certificate is needed to verify your education qualification. Even if you studied beyond 10th, the 10th marks card is sufficient. If you lost your original, get a duplicate from your board or school. A self-attested photocopy is usually accepted.

3. PAN Card

PAN card is required for PF (Provident Fund) registration. If you don't have a PAN card, you can apply for one online. It takes about 15-20 days to receive. However, some facilities allow you to submit PAN later and start work based on other documents. Ask HR about this option.

4. Bank Account Details

You need an active bank account for salary credit. Provide your account number, IFSC code, and a cancelled cheque or bank statement. If you don't have a bank account, open a zero-balance account in any nationalized bank. Banks like SBI, Canara, and PNB offer accounts you can open in a day.

5. Passport-Size Photos

Keep 4-6 recent passport-size photos ready. White background is preferred. These are used for your ID card, employee file, and facility access pass.

6. Medical Fitness Certificate

A basic medical certificate from a registered doctor stating you are fit for warehouse work. Some facilities have an in-house doctor who issues this after the medical test. If you have any medical condition, disclose it upfront.

7. Address Proof (if different from Aadhaar)

If your current address is different from the one on your Aadhaar, carry a supporting address proof like a rental agreement, utility bill, or bank statement.

Step 4: Joining Letter

After your documents are verified, you receive your joining letter within 48 hours. This is sent via email or WhatsApp. The joining letter contains:

• Your employee ID
• Reporting date and time
• Facility address and reporting point
• Shift timing
• Name of your supervisor or contact person
• Salary details and compensation structure

Read the joining letter carefully. If the reporting date is too soon or too far, you can request a change. HR is usually flexible if you give a valid reason.

If you have not received your joining letter within 3 days of document submission, track your application status here or call HR directly.

Step 5: Medical Test

The medical test is a basic checkup to ensure you are physically capable of warehouse work. It is conducted at the facility and takes about 30 minutes. Here's what is checked:

• Vision test: Basic eyesight check. Glasses are allowed
• Blood pressure: Normal range check
• General fitness: Height, weight, BMI assessment
• Color blindness test: Important for sorting and scanning tasks
• Physical agility: Basic bending, lifting, and walking assessment

Don't worry about failing the medical test. Unless you have a serious medical condition that prevents physical work, you will pass. The test is more about documentation than disqualification.

If you have any medical condition, inform the doctor honestly. They will assess whether you can do the job safely. In most cases, minor conditions like mild asthma or controlled diabetes are not an issue.

Step 6: Training Period

All new hires go through a paid training program lasting 2-3 days. This training is mandatory regardless of your experience level. Here's what you learn:

• Safety procedures — how to move around the warehouse safely, emergency exits, fire safety
• Scanning system — how to use the handheld scanner for picking and packing
• Picking techniques — efficient ways to pick items from shelves
• Packing standards — how to pack items properly for shipment
• Warehouse layout — understanding different zones in the facility
• Company policies — attendance rules, break timings, code of conduct

The training is conducted by experienced trainers who have been working at the facility for years. They explain everything in simple language — Hindi, Kannada, or English depending on what you're comfortable with.

Training is paid at the same rate as your regular salary. So you don't lose money during training. Some facilities also provide lunch during training days.

After training, you are assigned to a specific department based on your performance and the facility's requirements.

Step 7: First Day at Work

Your first day at the Flipkart warehouse is straightforward. Here's what typically happens:

1. Report to the security gate and show your joining letter
2. Go to the HR office to collect your ID card and access pass
3. Meet your department supervisor who explains your specific role
4. Get your work station assignment and tools (scanner, uniform if applicable)
5. Start working under supervision for the first few days

Your first week will feel slow as you get familiar with the systems and processes. Don't worry about speed initially — focus on accuracy. Speed comes with practice.
