Take a look at the actual workplaces — from loading docks to break rooms
If you have never been inside a large-scale e-commerce warehouse before, it is natural to wonder what you are walking into. We get that question a lot. People want to know whether the buildings are clean, whether the work areas are organized, whether there is proper ventilation and lighting. So we put together this page to give you a genuine, no-frills look at the facilities where you would be working.
Flipkart operates several fulfillment centers, sorting hubs and mother hubs across the Bangalore and Kolar regions. Each facility is built to handle thousands of packages a day. The buildings are massive — think of a structure the size of two or three football fields, with high ceilings, wide corridors and clearly marked zones for receiving, storing, picking, packing and dispatching. These are not cramped back rooms. Everything is laid out with operational efficiency in mind, but more importantly, with worker safety as a top priority.
Anjaneya FC sits right on NH4, along Swami Vivekananda Road in Tavarekere, near Venkatapura and Kolar. The building is a large, rectangular concrete structure with a flat industrial roof. From the outside, you will notice the wide loading dock area where trucks pull in to load and unload. There are typically six to eight dock bays, each with hydraulic levelers that make it easy to move heavy pallets between the truck and the warehouse floor.
Inside, the ground floor is mostly dedicated to receiving and dispatch. Forklifts move back and forth in clearly marked lanes. The floor is painted with yellow and green lines that indicate walking paths, vehicle zones and storage areas. Overhead, you will see industrial LED lighting that keeps every corner well-lit. There are large exhaust fans and cross-ventilation openings along the walls so the space does not feel stuffy even during the hot months.
The sorting area is organized into long conveyor lines with labeled bins. Each bin corresponds to a specific delivery zone or pin code. Workers stand along the conveyor and scan packages, routing them into the correct bins. It looks busy, but there is a rhythm to it. Upstairs or in the mezzanine level, there are more storage racks — tall steel shelving units that go up about four or five levels. Pickers walk through the aisles with handheld scanners, pulling items from the shelves and placing them into bins for packing.
The canteen area at Anjaneya FC is a separate section on the ground floor. It has long tables, clean seating and a food counter where meals are served. Tea and snacks are provided during breaks. There is also a separate break room with benches and a water cooler where workers can rest between shifts.
The Malur BTS FC is located near Marasandra and Madnahatti villages, in the Venkatapura area of Malur Taluk. This facility is spread over a large compound with plenty of open space around the building. The approach road is wide enough for heavy vehicles and there is a security checkpoint at the entrance where every vehicle and visitor is logged.
The building itself follows a similar design to Anjaneya FC. You walk in through the main entrance and immediately see the reception area and security desk. Beyond that, the warehouse floor opens up. The ceiling height here is generous — around 35 to 40 feet — which allows for tall racking systems. The racking is organized into blocks, each block dedicated to specific product categories like electronics, clothing, home goods or accessories.
The picking and packing stations are arranged in rows. Each station has a work surface, a computer terminal, a label printer and a conveyor belt that moves packed boxes toward the dispatch area. The floors are polished concrete, smooth enough for trolleys and small forklifts to move around without difficulty. Dust control systems run along the walls and the facility is cleaned on a regular schedule.
One thing that stands out at the Malur FC is the open yard area behind the building. This is where trucks queue up for loading. During peak hours, you might see fifteen to twenty trucks lined up, each waiting for their turn. The yard has proper drainage, lighting for night operations and a covered waiting area for drivers.
The Malur BTS Mother Hub is situated on NH4, near Tavarekere. While the fulfillment centers focus on storing and picking individual orders, the Mother Hub is all about sorting. This is where packages from multiple fulfillment centers arrive and get sorted by region, city or pin code before being sent out to last-mile delivery stations.
The Mother Hub has a more open-plan layout compared to the fulfillment centers. There are fewer storage racks and more conveyor lines. The entire floor is essentially one massive sorting operation. Packages arrive on one end, get scanned and categorized, then travel along conveyors to the appropriate dispatch lane on the other end.
The building is designed for speed and volume. Doors are wide and numerous — you will see a row of large roll-up doors along one side of the building, each one serving as a loading or unloading point. The floor space is uncluttered to allow maximum movement. Workers here tend to be on their feet for most of the shift, moving between scanning stations and conveyor junctions. Safety vests, steel-toe shoes and reflective tape on uniforms are standard in this facility.
Myntra's warehouse is a different beast altogether. Located on Soukya Road in Hosakote, this facility handles fashion and lifestyle products — clothing, footwear, accessories and beauty items. Because these products are more delicate and varied in size, the warehouse layout is a bit different from a standard Flipkart FC.
The interior is well-organized with garment-on-hanger (GOH) sections where clothes are stored on rails rather than flat shelves. There are also standard shelving units for folded items, shoe racks and separate bins for accessories. The packing area is particularly neat — each station has tissue paper, branded Myntra boxes and poly mailers ready to go.
Lighting in the Myntra warehouse is bright and even, which is important for quality checks on clothing items. Workers inspect each product for defects, stains or damage before packing. The canteen here serves vegetarian meals and the break rooms have charging points for phones. There is also a small outdoor seating area behind the building where workers can get some fresh air during breaks.
All Flipkart-affiliated warehouses maintain strict cleanliness standards. Floors are mopped and swept regularly. Trash bins are placed at intervals throughout the work floor. Restrooms are cleaned multiple times during each shift. Pest control is handled on a monthly basis, and you will notice traps and sprayers placed strategically around the facility.
The buildings are maintained by dedicated facility management teams. If a light goes out, it gets fixed quickly. If a conveyor belt jams, the maintenance crew is on it within minutes. It might sound like a small thing, but when you are working a ten-hour shift, having a well-maintained workspace makes a real difference to your comfort and morale.
Safety is not just a poster on the wall at these facilities. Every worker is provided with basic personal protective equipment — high-visibility vests, safety shoes and ear protection for noisy areas. Fire extinguishers are mounted on pillars throughout the warehouse. Emergency exits are clearly marked with glowing signs and the evacuation routes are drilled periodically.
There are first-aid stations at every major work zone. Each station is stocked with bandages, antiseptic, ice packs and basic medications. A trained first-aid responder is on duty during every shift. If someone feels unwell or gets injured, the protocol is simple — report it immediately, get treated, and take rest if needed. The safety culture at these warehouses is genuinely good, not just performative.
Each facility has a canteen that serves meals during lunch and dinner hours. The food is simple but filling — rice, dal, sambar, roti and a vegetable dish. Tea is provided twice a day, once in the morning and once during the evening break. Some facilities also have snack vending machines and small shops near the entrance where you can grab a packet of biscuits or a cold drink.
Break rooms are separate from the work floor. They have benches, fans, water dispensers and phone charging points. Some facilities also have a small TV playing news or entertainment during breaks. It is a space where you can actually sit down, stretch your legs and talk to your colleagues without worrying about the noise and movement of the warehouse.
Restrooms are clean and well-maintained, with running water and soap. Separate facilities are available for men and women. Changing rooms with lockers are provided for workers who want to change into or out of their work clothes.
Getting to the warehouse is made easier with the free cab facility. Cabs operate from multiple pickup points across Bangalore and surrounding areas. Here are some of the common pickup locations:
Cabs typically start picking up around 5:30 AM for the morning shift and around 2:00 PM for the night shift. The return trips are scheduled right after the shift ends. It takes roughly 30 to 45 minutes depending on the route and traffic.
Knowing a few landmarks helps when you are heading to the warehouse for the first time. The Anjaneya FC on NH4 is easy to find — it is along the main highway and you will see the large Flipkart signage from a distance. If you are coming from Bangalore, take the NH4 toward Kolar and look for the Swami Vivekananda Road turn near Tavarekere.
The Malur BTS FC is a bit further off the main road. From Malur town, head toward Venkatapura and follow the signs toward Marasandra village. The facility is visible from a distance because of its size. Most cab drivers in the area know the route by now.
For the Myntra warehouse on Soukya Road, take the Hosakote road from Bangalore and look for the Soukya Road turnoff. The facility is about ten minutes from the Hosakote town center. If you are using Google Maps, just search for "Myntra Warehouse Hosakote" and it will take you right there.
Walking into a large warehouse for the first time can feel a little overwhelming. The building is big, there are a lot of people moving around and the noise level is higher than a typical office. But it does not take long to get used to it. Most workers settle into the rhythm within the first couple of days.
On your first day, you will be greeted at the security gate, given a temporary ID badge and escorted to the HR office for documentation. After that, you will be assigned to a team and a supervisor who will walk you through the basics — where your workstation is, how to use the scanner, where the canteen and restrooms are, and what the safety protocols are.
The facilities are designed to be functional and comfortable. High ceilings mean better air circulation. Wide aisles mean you are not constantly bumping into things. Proper lighting means less eye strain. And the break rooms mean you actually have a place to rest. It is physical work, no doubt, but the environment is set up to make it as manageable as possible.
For those who ride their own two-wheelers to the warehouse, there is a designated parking area inside the compound. The parking zones are covered, which is a relief during the monsoon season. Security guards keep an eye on the parking area throughout the day and night.
Some facilities also have a dedicated area for bicycle parking. A few workers prefer cycling to the nearest cab pickup point and then taking the cab from there. The compounds are large enough that parking is rarely an issue, even during peak hiring periods when the workforce is at its highest.
The warehouses in Malur and Kolar are surrounded by open land and greenery. It is not an urban industrial zone with concrete everywhere — there are fields and trees visible from the warehouse compound. During breaks, some workers walk around the perimeter of the facility for some fresh air and light exercise. The air quality is noticeably better out here compared to central Bangalore.
At the Anjaneya FC, the approach road is lined with trees and there is a small temple near the junction that workers sometimes visit before their shift. The Malur facilities are closer to village areas, so you will see farmland and open sky. It is a different kind of work environment — industrial inside, rural outside.
These are not old-school godowns with paper registers. Every warehouse is equipped with modern inventory management systems. Workers use handheld RF scanners to scan barcodes on packages and shelves. Conveyor systems move packages automatically between zones. Computer terminals at packing stations display order details and print shipping labels.
The sorting areas have automated scanners that read labels as packages move along the conveyor. If a label is unreadable, the package is diverted to a manual inspection station. The whole system is designed to minimize errors and maximize throughput. Workers get trained on the equipment during their first few days, and most pick it up quickly.
