Quick Commerce | Instant Delivery | High Earnings
Instamart is Swiggy's quick commerce arm. It delivers groceries, household essentials, snacks, beverages, and personal care items within 10 to 30 minutes. The service runs through a network of dark stores across Bangalore. Every order needs a rider to pick it up from the nearest store and drop it at the customer's door. We are hiring riders right now. If you have a smartphone and 8–10 hours a day, this job works. No driving licence needed. No bike needed — electric bikes are available on rent. Immediate joining.
This page covers everything: how Instamart works, how much you earn, what you need to start, which areas are hiring, and how to apply. Practical info, no fluff. Also check our rider reviews to hear from people already on the road.
A customer places an order on the Swiggy app. The nearest dark store picks and packs the items. You pick up the packet and deliver it. Most deliveries are within 3 to 5 km of the store — short distances mean more orders per shift, and more orders mean more money.
You get orders through the Instamart rider app. It shows the pickup point, delivery address, and estimated earnings for each order. You can accept or skip. During peak hours (12–2 PM and 7–10 PM), order volume is highest and incentive rates go up. The job is simple: pick up the packet, verify the order number, ride to the address, hand it over. Most deliveries take 15–20 minutes. On a good day, you complete 15–25 orders.
Instamart pays per delivery, not a flat salary. Here is what riders make in Bangalore:
Real example: A rider doing 15 orders/day at ₹25/order earns ₹11,250 from per-order pay in 30 days. Add weekly incentives (₹3,000–₹5,000) and you are at ₹14,000–₹16,000 — the lower end. Riders working peak hours and completing 20–25 orders daily with all incentive targets hit regularly cross ₹60,000–₹50,000/month. Payment is weekly — every Monday directly to your bank account. You see your earnings in the app every day. No waiting for month-end.
Do not own a bike? Rent an electric bike for ₹1,500 per week. Includes basic maintenance and battery swap support. Swap stations are available at major hubs across Bangalore. Most riders swap batteries once during their shift — takes about 5 minutes. If you already own a bike or scooter, use that instead. No compulsion to rent.
Coming from outside Bangalore? PG accommodation at ₹6,000 per month near major delivery hubs. Shared rooms with beds, WiFi, basic kitchen access. Located in Whitefield, Electronic City, Marathahalli, and HSR Layout — close to Instamart dark stores. Some PGs also provide meals at an additional ₹2,000–₹3,000/month if you prefer.
No degree, no experience, no language barrier. The rider app supports English, Hindi, Kannada, and Tamil. GPS handles navigation. You do not need to memorize routes on day one.

most orders within 3–5 km, less fuel, more trips

money hits your account every Monday

Morning shift (6 AM – 2 PM): Grocery orders start early — milk, bread, vegetables. First two hours are calm with 5–8 orders/hour. After 9 AM, volume picks up as professionals start ordering for the day.
Afternoon lull (2 PM – 5 PM): Slowest period. Take a break, recharge your bike battery, grab lunch.
Evening peak (5 PM – 10 PM): The real money window. Office-goers ordering snacks, families ordering dinner ingredients, students ordering drinks. A single evening can earn ₹800–₹1,500 in 4–5 hours.
Late night (10 PM – 12 AM): Orders slow but per-order payouts go up since fewer riders are available. Decent earning window if you do not mind riding at night.
With regular food delivery, you go to a restaurant and wait for food to be ready. That waiting time eats into your earnings. With Instamart, the order is already packed and waiting at the dark store. You walk in, pick it up, and leave. Pickup takes 30 seconds to 1 minute. Riders report completing 20–30% more orders per day compared to food delivery platforms.
The other difference is distance. Food delivery sometimes sends you 7–10 km across the city. Instamart deliveries stay within 3–5 km of the dark store. Shorter distances, faster deliveries, more trips per shift.
Instamart runs monthly incentive programs for consistent riders. Hit a certain number of orders per week to get bonus payouts. More orders = higher bonus. Top riders get priority during peak seasons and festivals when surge pricing kicks in. There is also a referral program — refer a friend and earn ₹500 per rider. No cap on referrals. Some riders earn ₹3,000–₹5,000 extra per month just from referrals.
For riders interested in moving beyond delivery, Instamart opens up store operations roles — dark store associate, shift supervisor, inventory coordinator. Riders with a good track record get first preference.
Driving licence is optional — not mandatory. You need a smartphone and must be 18+. If you have a licence, it helps during KYC but is not a dealbreaker.
